SPM Instrument launches new condition monitoring technology for marine and offshore applications

SPM Instrument introduces new versions of the DuoTech accelermeters and Airius sensors, along with Performance+, a powerful new add-on for the Intellinova Parallel EN continuous monitoring system. In marine and offshore operations, rotating machinery often runs under changing loads, intermittently, or within short operating windows. SPM Instrument’s latest condition monitoring developments help maintenance teams capture relevant data when it matters and process it more efficiently.

Airius III captures intermittent operating events

The new Airius III expands the Airius family of wireless vibration sensors with a wake-up function that allows the sensor to respond instantly to vibration events between scheduled measurements, ensuring that important changes are captured even outside the normal measurement cycle.

The feature is particularly valuable for equipment with irregular duty cycles. In crane applications, for example, measurements are most meaningful when the crane is operating under load. Airius III also provides enhanced sensitivity for low-RPM machinery, lower noise levels, up to five times higher precision, a higher g-force rating, and a higher sampling rate across a 2–5,000 Hz frequency range.

DuoTech II improves measurement stability

The DuoTech II accelerometer further advances SPM’s combined shock pulse and vibration measurement technology. Building on a well-established design platform used in demanding industrial applications, the new generation introduces mechanical improvements that enhance measurement stability and reproducibility.

Several versions are available for different application requirements, including a new low-transverse-sensitivity version for high-precision tasks such as rotor balancing. Optimized production also reduces the product’s environmental footprint.

Performance+ adds 50 percent more processing capacity

Performance+ is a new software add-on for the Intellinova Parallel EN online system, available across all Condmaster editions. By optimizing DSP utilization, it increases measurement and processing capacity by 50 percent, enabling significantly more parallel measurements and faster data handling without adding to the system’s environmental impact.

The additional capacity is particularly valuable for high-speed machinery, equipment with short measurement windows, and installations operating under non-continuous loads. Performance+ is available across all Condmaster editions for both new and existing Intellinova Parallel EN systems.

Condmaster software support

DuoTech II and Performance+ require the 2026.3.0 revision of the Condmaster Ruby analysis and diagnostics software, while Airius III will be supported in a later revision. In addition to supporting DuoTech II and Performance+, the 2026.3.0 Condmaster revision also introduces significant improvements for managing large installations and commissioning large numbers of Airius sensors.
