SPM Instrument advances its condition monitoring platform with new technology advancements

SPM Instrument today introduces new versions of the acclaimed DuoTech and Airius sensors, along with Performance+, a powerful new software add-on for the Intellinova Parallel EN online system. Together, these developments strengthen performance across the SPM condition monitoring platform, from wireless sensors and wired transducers to online system processing capacity. The goal is clear: to deliver higher performance without compromising precision, flexibility, or sustainability.

SPM Instrument has long advanced condition monitoring technologies and helped redefine what high-quality measurement means in industrial reliability work. As pioneers in advanced measurement technology and signal analysis, the company continues to set the standard for precision, reliability, and actionable insights.

”These enhancements strengthen the entire SPM ecosystem,” said Johan Nilsson, R&D Manager at SPM Instrument.“From sensors to signal processing, we continuously invest in the technologies at the heart of our solutions. That commitment is what allows us to deliver the precision and reliability our customers expect from SPM.”

Airius III – advancing wireless vibration monitoring

The new Airius III expands the Airius family of wireless vibration sensors with a wake-up function that allows the sensor to respond instantly to vibration events between scheduled measurements, ensuring that important changes are captured even outside the normal measurement cycle.

The feature is particularly valuable in applications where operating conditions change rapidly or loads occur intermittently. In crane applications, for example, vibration measurements are most meaningful when the crane is under load. Because load events occur unpredictably, the wake-up function ensures that relevant vibration data is captured when it matters most.

Airius III also delivers improved measurement performance, including enhanced sensitivity for low-RPM machinery, lower noise levels, up to five times higher precision, a higher g-force rating, and a higher sampling rate.

Operating across a 2–5,000 Hz frequency range, Airius III delivers the signal quality and reliability required for demanding industrial environments and provides even greater flexibility in wireless monitoring.

DuoTech II – next-generation multipurpose transducers

The new DuoTech II accelerometer family further advances SPM’s combined shock pulse and vibration measurement technology. Building on a well-established design platform used in demanding industrial applications, the new generation introduces mechanical improvements that enhance measurement stability and reproducibility.

The updated design increases mechanical robustness and ensures consistent measurement performance even in challenging operating environments.

Engineered for greater flexibility, the DuoTech II family is available in multiple versions to support different application requirements. A new low-transverse-sensitivity version is especially well suited for high-precision applications such as rotor balancing.

In addition to improved measurement performance, optimized production reduces the environmental footprint, supporting SPM’s sustainability initiatives in production and sourcing.

Performance+ – supercharging Intellinova processing power

Performance+ is a new software add-on for the Intellinova Parallel EN online system, available across all Condmaster editions. By optimizing DSP utilization, it increases measurement and processing capacity by 50 percent, enabling significantly more parallel measurements and faster data handling without adding to the system’s environmental impact.

The enhanced processing capability allows the system to respond more quickly to events in demanding applications. This is particularly valuable for high-speed machinery, equipment with short measurement windows, or installations operating under non-continuous load conditions.

Available for both new and existing Intellinova Parallel EN systems, Performance+ takes this powerhouse system, with its many uniquely powerful capabilities, supreme flexibility, and outstanding measurement performance, to new levels of efficiency.

Condmaster software support

DuoTech II and Performance+ require the 2026.3.0 revision of the Condmaster Ruby analysis and diagnostics software, while Airius III will be supported in a later revision. In addition to supporting DuoTech II and Performance+, the 2026.3.0 Condmaster revision also introduces significant improvements for managing large installations and commissioning large numbers of Airius sensors.
